This started off as a page to experiment with different techniques, but once I had begun I found that the page was coming along nicely with a kind of post-lapsarian theme. I had read the quote “Thank God men cannot fly and lay waste the sky as well as the earth” a while back and thought that it complimented the theme perfectly. I know it looks rather messy and haphazard but that was the idea, as I didn’t want it to look too neat and planned.
I experimented using rough sponges to apply paint, cutting my own stencils using a paper stamp, and using corrugated cardboard to create the line effects. I also used my ‘Distress Ink Spray Stain’ in vintage photo colour in order to create the brown smog effect around the city scape. 🙂
