August/September Art Journaling

I have managed to do a lot of art journaling this summer, and these are some of the pages I’ve created.

‘Just Be You’ – Paint applied with sponge,  details using sharpies and posca pens, washi tape border, quote using Dymo label maker, embellishment cut from greetings card.

‘Darling I’m A Mess’- paint roughly applied with coarse brush, lines and spots made with black sharpie, text and drawing with posca pen on gesso.img_1844

‘Rebel’ (with Neck Deep lyrics) – background with sponged on paint, woman and REBEL cut from magazines, washi tape, coloured card shapes, posca pen details.

‘Nothing Worth Having Ever Comes Easy’ – torn pages glued in background, paint applied roughly with fingers, rubber stamp leaves, doodles and text added in posca pens and sharpies.

‘I’ve Been Moving Mountains That I Once Had To Climb’ – watered down acrylic background, mountains created with torn pieces from magazines, details added with sharpie.

Finally, I created my front cover, as the art journal I’m currently working on is an altered book which needed the original cover changing. I decided to use the sheets of paper which I lay on my desk to prevent paint splashes and mop up any spillages to cover the front. I then added some illustration in pen and the title using my trusty old posca pens! I was pleased with how it turned out. 🙂
